JH Group supports The Grand Appeal, meet the latest team member!

JH Group are proud to be involved supporting an incredible local charity, The Grand Appeal last night.

Underneath the wings of Concorde at Aerospace, bidding took place for the iconic Gromit Unleased 2 sculptures, raising money for The Grand Appeal.

The Grand total raised by the end of the night was £1,321,000.JH Group successfully bid on ‘Dias de los Perro’ a colourful addition to the JH Group team.

Aardman co-founder Peter Lord introduced the evening from the stage, where he was later joined by representatives from The Grand Appeal detailing exactly where the money would go. In total Sixty-two of the Gromit Unleashed 2 sculptures were sold and four pocket size Penguins. All money raised will go to Bristol Children’s Hospital and St Michael’s Neonatal Intensive Care Unit.

This summer Wallace, Gromit and their arch-nemesis feathers McGraw spent two months dotted around the city drawing millions of visitors to the city and raising the profile of The Grand appeal charity. Established in 1995, Wallace & Gromits Grand appeal has raised over £50 million. Aardman animations have been continually generous in allowing the charity to use the Award-winning Characters.

The money raised has been used by Bristol Children’s Hospital among other things to fund pioneering life-saving equipment, including a 3D printing service used on the Cardiac ward that will revolutionise operations and help patients and parents better understand even the most complex cardiac surgeries, eventually the service will have the capability to ‘bio-print’ using stem cells dramatically decreasing the amount of operations a young patient needs.

Funding is provided for free accommodation for families of critically ill patients from Neonatal and Paediatric Intensive care units and provides a free support service for parents and their families. Donations have also ensured that the neonatal ward is equipped with the latest equipment to help save lives.

Support from this Charity is ongoing, and you can find out more on their website www.grandappeal.org.uk
